WHY: OUR IMPACT
After there were two suicides of startup founders and the sudden death of a third Kristin Darga created Impact Founder, a series of humanized photojournalism and written stories of entrepreneurs’ struggles and successes. Self-doubt is part of life and a way to reduce the feelings of failure or depression among founders is by sharing real accounts of ‘regular’ entrepreneurs.
Founders often confront their issues alone and lose their perspective. Over the past 2.5 years, Impact Founder has gathered hundreds of stories of failures and triumphs of founders. We level up the stories of all types of founders, through in-depth inquiries delving into the failures and triumphs of entrepreneurs. Our Impact we are determined to make is to reach a vast audience and inspire readers by debunking the myth that entrepreneurship is sexy. Our stories use multi-media art to humanize and normalize what all entrepreneurs experience at one time or another in their journey.
We started as a photography exhibit in September 2015. Photojournalism is a type of photography when images are used to report a story. We use a combination of words and images for a comprehensive experience.
These are the benefits to participating in Impact Founder and telling your story.
Our platform helps entrepreneurs build recognition as a leader through sharing authentically. Having endured hardship with the ability to share openly is highly regarded as a leader in the community.
Our entrepreneurs experience the feeling of freedom after sharing what’s real for them as a business owner.
Our Impact Founders have the opportunity to connect with other stories similar to their own, which creates connection and a background of relatedness.
